Jomsborg
Vineta Viking Festival is held in Wolin in Polen, where Harald
Bluetooths mythical Jomsborg says to have been. The festival
attracts viking from all over Europe but especially from central
Europe including Russia. The fights are known to be spectacular. Catoira i Spanien helds Viking
Market at the first sunday of Auguist. The market has many
visitors. Among other things the Spanish town of Caitora has a
reconstruction of a Viking ship inspired by Skuldelev 5 - same
type as
Helge Ask in Roskilde. The festival is held in
connection to the socalled Oeste towers which among other things
were used for defence against Viking attacks in the Viking
period.
The Viking Market in Roskilde
takes place at the
Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde, where the Viking ship The
Sea Stallion has its home habour.
The Danish Championship in Viking
Archery is held at Ribe Viking Centre in South Jutland, Denmark
