Again this year the
Viking group Harfsfjordvikingerne organizes a Viking Market. In 2007
the market was placed on the saga island Rott but in 2008 the market
has moved into the legendary Hafrs Fjord - the place where Harold
Fairhair unified Norway to one kingdom. In
The market will be
placed in an idyllic park in Møllebukta near Sverd.
Trading people,
musicians, battle, games, archery - and of course Viking ships will be
part of the market.
The Viking group
Harfsfjordvikingerne has also a tradition of involving the locals
schools in Viking life at the market.
In 2008 the nearby
town Stavanger was celebrating being Capital of Culture 2008 and many
visitors are expected to the this region this summer.
